This 14-night tour will see you travel from the mile high city of Denver to Mount Rushmore and on to Yellowstone, a landscape like no other on earth.

DAY 1 FLY TO DENVER, USA

Fly to Denver and collect your rental car before taking the short drive north into Wyoming where you will stay in the heart of the sleepy state capital, Cheyenne.

Overnight: Historic Plains, Cheyenne (Standard Double – Room Only)

 

DAY 2 CHEYENNE, TO HILL CITY, SD

Today you will drive north towards the iconic Mount Rushmore. We recommend you visit Scottsbluff in Nebraska on route.

Overnight: Best Western Plus Golden Spike Inn & Suites, Hill City (Standard Double – Room & Breakfast)

 

DAY 3 HILL CITY, SD

This frontier town is a short drive from Mount Rushmore, of the world’s most unusual landmarks. Situated in the stunning Black Hills. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and you can even try and pan for gold.

DAY 4 HILL CITY TO CODY, WY

Driving across Wyoming, America’s least populated state, is a delightful experience. Your route passes Thunder Basin National Grassland, home to Buffalo and Pronghorn Antelope.

DAY 5/6 CODY, WY (YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK)

The town of Cody is just a short drive from Yellowstone National Park. Most of the parks main attractions are based around a figure of eight and you will not be short of sights to see – from Old Faithful geyser to huge herds of Buffalo. You can even take a dip in the Boiling River.

DAY 7 YELLOWSTONE TO JACKSON, WY

Just south of Yellowstone is the Grand Tetons National Park where a huge glacier-laden mountains line a lush valley. Your accommodation for the evening is a spacious cabin, really adding to the ambience of your stay.

Overnight: Headwaters Lodge & Cabin at Flagg Ranch, Jackson Hole (Deluxe Cabin – Room Only)

 

DAY 8 JACKSON TO HOT LAVA SPRINGS, ID

Today you get off the tourist trail into beautiful Idaho. Passing through Idaho Falls before reaching Hot Lava Springs, named for the hot springs that can be found in the town.

Overnight: Riverside Hot Springs Inn, Hot Lava Springs (Standard Room – Room & Breakfast)

 

DAY 9 HOT LAVA SPRINGS, ID

Watch the world go by whilst relaxing in the warm waters of the springs and floating through the town on inflatable tubes. Hot Lava Springs is the perfect tucked away retreat.

DAY 10 HOT LAVA SPRINGS TO MOAB, UT

Driving south you will pass through Salt Lake City. This compact city lines a stunning valley with snowed-capped mountains both sides. The unusual salt lake and impressive Mormon architecture will give you something to explore on your way to southern Utah’s striking canyon-dominated scenery and your night’s stunning accommodation in Moab.

DAY 11 MOAB, UT

Having enjoyed your first night in your luxury tent with unrivalled views of the endless Utah sky. There is plenty to explore around Moab with both Canyonlands and The Arches National Parks on your doorstep. Native American petroglyphs can also be found for those prepared to find them.

DAY 12 MOAB TO VAIL, CO

You will notice the scenery change as you enter Colorado, home of the Rockies. A stunning vista is available above Grand Junction and main highway cuts through the mountains providing plenty of walking, picnic and photo opportunities. The alpine-inspired ski resort of Vail has plenty for the visitor, even outside of ski season.

DAY 13 VAIL TO DENVER, CO

With such a short distance to make you will have time to take a detour and visit the Rocky Mountain National Park, the highest in the contiguous USA, before reaching Denver, your home for the next 2 nights.

DAY 14 DENVER, CO

Denver, the state capital of Colorado and the Mile High City. Home to the iconic Union Station and Coors Field where you can watch a Baseball game with the Rocky Mountains in the backdrop. With the US Mint is located in the city, the impressive state capitol building, sizeable zoo and aquarium and a pleasant pedestrian shopping area there is plenty to see and do in Denver, whatever your interests. For those not prepared to say goodbye to the stunning scenery just yet nearby Boulder provides an excellent starting point for bike trails or hiking routes.

DAY 15 DENVER TO UK

With an evening flight, you can take your time getting to the airport where you will return your rental car ahead of your flight back to the UK.
